Welcome to the anthropocene
Where children weep
The whole world fucking screams

As oceans rise
And fill with the dead
We can only hope
This will all soon fucking end

Yet we Laugh
just to keep back the tears
Cause we sit with the knowledge
That we should be living in fear

Take these bags
Cover our eyes and mouths
It makes it easier
To shut the sadness out

We don’t deserve this obliviousness
And when were gone who will clean up this mess

We don’t see blood on our hands
Here in the promised land
can’t see the irony
This isn’t what we planned

The forests die
Lined up with the dead
Through a wall of flames
We can all see how this ends

Building debt
One must be repaid
When the land is demolished
Who’s left standing on the graves

Take these bags
Put them over our heads
It might ease the pain
If we are already dead
